S. C. Times Office. Saturday Evening. Mcnsrs R. Wilkin and Co. report for the weekending Friday 11th August,as follows : Horses.—For last Saturday’s sale about 20 burses of various kind? were entered, the attendance was above the average, and the bulk of the lots submitted changed hand at very fair prices, They note a little improvement in values, in fact really first-class draughts arc selling well compared with the prices that have been obtained tor tone time past. They quote firs' -elms draughts. £3O to £35 ; useful farm horses. £2O to £2B. Hacks—There is but little demand for, and cannot be quoted over £lO to £lB for good sorts; light £6 to £B. Cattle—The price of beef has advanced, and really prime quality may be quoted at 23s to 25a per lOOlhs. At these prices they have during the week placed several small lots. Stores in good forward condition are saleah’e at reasonable rates. Privately we have sold 40 head. Young cattle are being enquired for, and will, there is no doubt,: move off freely in a short time.

Sheep—Prime fat sheep are still at last week's quotations. They expect that ere loog prices will rise, as both North and South the market reports show that they are hardening. The shipments to be made in September will materially advance the price of fat stock. Their sales during the week have been principally, viz., 1050 crossbred mixed ewes, wethers and hoggets at a very satisfactory price, 600 merino ewes in lamb at 6s. The demand for store sheep, especially young crossbreds, is every day improving. They have several inquiries and could place a limited number.
