NEW ZEALAND.
(Pan Press Association.) Fire. ’ Wellington, August 9. A four-roomed cottage at Newtown was destroyed by fire at six o’clock this morning* Tfa® place was unoccupied) and the fire originated through the owner of the house (who resides next door) when catting firewood inside, knocking over a kerosene lamp. The house was insured for £IOO in the South British Company’s office. The loss is estimated at £SO above that amount.
