THEATRE ROYAL.
;... Tho fact that sterling merit wins its way in time, was borne out by the Increased attendance at the Theatre last night.' The whole performance was excellent, the pieces well chosen, the acting bright, and the stage management all that could be desired. _ The first piece was “ Cramond Brig,” in which the part of Jock Howrson was splendidly played by Mr M. D. Alexander, Mr Dissent taking the part of the Eng or the “ Gnde man o’ Ballangeich.’ In the. interlude, it would be hard to say whether Miss Amy Johns was more captivating as a singer or as a danteuse. In both capacities she delighted everyone. The concluding piece, “ The Steeplechase ” was indeed a screaming farce, in which all the parts were capitally sustained. This excellent Company does its work well.
