AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS AT HOME. (By Cable.] London, Jane 19. Tho Australians commenced their cricket match at Sheffield to-day against an eleven of Yorkshire. An enormous; crowd of spectators was present. The weather was showery , during the day, and the wicket was consequently somewhat heavy. The. Home team went first to the wickets, but with the exception of J. Philips, who scored 38, they were unable to make a standi against the splendid bowlingt of the; Australians, and were all disposed of for a;total of 92.. Garret and Giffen both did great execution, the former taking four wickets for 27 runs, and the: latter five for 16. The Australians then commenced their first innings, and , when the stamps were drawn for the day, had put together 94 runs for the loss of font wickets. The highest scores were —Bannerman, caught, 34, and? Murdoch, not out, 42.
