They have a humorous side to journalism down in Tennosee as well as in the buoyant West. Mr Foster, of the London “Farmer,” playfully referred recently to John Littleton, of the Kingston “ Cyclone,” as “ a blackguard, thief, and murderer.” The breezy editor of the “Cyclone” swept down to London and played around the ears of his esteemed contemporary like a gentle Southern zephyr. , He thus refers to the matter in his own r paper : We caned him because he deserved to be caned—caned him with a cane that will cane him again if he needs caning —caned him up caned him down-caned him over half the town—caned him soundly, swiftly caned him —caned him as all canines .= need caning—rcaned Foster.”—" St Louis Post-Despatch* 1 ■
