IMPORTANT DECISION.

[By Teleqeaph.] Wellington, May 9. A case of some interest was decided at the Appeal Court to-day. It was an appeal from the verdict of a jury in the case J.G-. Hislop v. the .National Bank of Now Zealand, tried in the District Court of Westland, before Judge Broad, in which the plaintiff recovered JMOO damages for injury done to his credit and reputation through the dishonoring of his cheque. The appeal, which was on the ground of misdirection by Judge Broad, was allowed, and judgment was ordered to bo entered for the defendant in the Court below with costs.
