In the window of Messrs G. and T. Young, jewellers, are to be seen the trophies for the coming competition of the Athletic Club. They consist of a large assortment of very handsome pieces of plate, Mr Godby’s Challenge Cup being the chief. Bound this arc grouped inkstands, egg-stands, a biscuit box, fish set, See., &c„ all triumphs of the smith’s art. The date of the Timaru Steeplechase meeting has been altered from Friday, June 2, to Thursday, June 1, in order to allow a little more time between the Timaru and Waimate meetings. A clearing sale of stock in the bankruptcy estate of J. M. Shepherd, is announced by Messrs C. Zicle and Co., of Dunedin, to commence 10th inst., (Wednesday.) Cheap grocery and crockery.
