At the Supreme Court to-day Mary jane Sullivan was found guilty of concealment of child-birth and sentenced to twelve months imprisonment. -Hiroki on his Trial for the Murder of John McLean. At the Supreme Court this morning, Wiremu Hiroki was brought up charged with the murder of John McLean, at Monotake on Sept. 19, 1878. Mr Samuel appeared for the Crown, and Mr Richmond for the prisoner. John Frazer is now being examined. Death of an old SettlerWellington, May 3. Captain Ruck, formerly of Auckland, died in the hospital at Masterton last night. : ■ The Frisco MailThe Penguin sailed at three o’clock this afternoon with the Southern portion of the San Francisco mail.
