[Redtbb’s Aqknov.j ’Frisco Mails, London, April 19. The steamship City of Sydney, which left Auckland on March 26th, arrived at San Francisco yesterday, two days ahead of contract time. Persecution of Jews. Official statements have been published in St. Petersburg regarding the state of affairs in southern Eussia, in which the fact of the late outrages against the Jews having been of a violent and widespread character is fully admitted by Government? In to the official accounts, reports are to hand from unofficial sources, in which the assailants of the Jews are charged with having been guilty of acts o the most barbarous and atrocious character.
