COSTUME.

A ball was lately given at a place called Sandy Run, in the Wyoming territory, United States. Here is; a description of a’pair of guests ’who formed a portion of the elite of that place and the townTOUnd ;rr:‘liMiss from Wilder’s Gulch, was elegantly attired in a handsome cross-grained buckskin dress, with army blanket overskirt, bottom looped up with buckskin strings cut bias. She wore an elegant mountain catskin cap, festooned with antelope tails, secured under the chin with a rattlesnake’s- skin. Her feet were encased in buckskin mocassins, trimmed with beads and soldiers’ buttons. She created a big pensation as she entered the hall hanging upon the arm of Mr H. Barton, ©f Hallville, who was dressed in the style of his locality—buckskin breeches, in boots, hunting shirt .of the same, ornamented with beads and/tobacco juice, .and an army belt of the latest pattern round his waist, a pair of six-shooters and a I}ugs bowio knife, which set off his gallant ’'figure' to" good advantage/ Envious glances from both sexes followed this excellent couple round the hall.—“ American paper.”
