Inspector Pender stated that Dr Hogg was not prepared to give an opinion as to the mental state of the accused. He was therefore remanded for one week. Accused expostulated with the Bench and expressed his wish to be dealt with at once, but His Worship stated that he was unable to dispose of the case at once. W AIM ATE—YE STERDA Y. (Before J. Beswick, Esq., E.M., and G. C. Stacpool, Esq.,) NEGLECTED CHILDEEN. W. Willis and F. Willis, neglected children were committed to the Industrial school, the elder for five and the younger for seven years. ASSAULT. J. Martin was fined 20s and costs for striking A. Price with a whiphandle. BILL-STICKING WITHOUT LEAVE. Joseph Hind was cautioned and dismissed for this offence. CIVIL CASES, In the following cases judgment was given by default: — Clement v. Morton, claim £lO, and Hayes v. Morton, £3016s 9d. Hammond v. Kirby,claim 10s, balance of groom’s account. The defendant denied having agreed to pay the amount. Judgment for plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs. Adams v. White, claim £6 4s 2d, for goods snpplied to the defendant. The defendant disputed having received some of the goods. The case was adjourned, on the plaintiff’s application, to next Court day, April 26th. Hammond v; Attewell, claim, £7 18s, judgment summons. The defendant was ordered to pay 10s per week, in defanlt one month's imprisonment.
