Ministers were in Cabinet until six o’clock last night,,, and the telegraph office hours were extended for the transmission of Government telegrams. Nothing has transpired as to the result of the meeting. Wet WeatherIt hks been raining here since Saturday morning and it still continues raining. Influx of Visitors to ChristchurchChristchurch, April 10. Nearly 2000 visitors arrived _by trains from the South on Saturday night and,yesterday, including a large number of Southern Volunteers. A Miserable Holiday. Dunedin, April 10. Heavy rain has fallen since yesterday evening. The river Leith is bank high, and fears are entertained of a flood. There are no indicaiions of the rain ceasing, and all out-door sports have been abandoned. Death of an Old Settler-
The Rev. Donald McLean died somewhat suddenly in the hospital last night. He has not followed the ministry for some years, but has been engaged as a teacher here.
