THE ELEMENTS AT IT AGAIN
(Peess Association Telegeam.) Wellington, April 6. Three shocks of earthquake were felt here this afternoon. The first, a very slight one, occurred at 4.10 p.iu., followed almost immediately by a rather severe one, The direction was N.W. to S.E. The third shock occurred a few minutes later, but was very slight. No damage is reported. Haweea, April 6. A very severe earthquake shock was felt here at 6 minutes past four, The direction was N.V7. to S.E. Chimneys are down or tottering on all sides, windows are broken, and some little damage has been done in stores and private houses by articles falling from the shelves. A second shock followed ten minutes later, but was much slighter than the first. Opunake, April. 6. At 4 p.m. to-day a most severe shock of earthquake was felt here, but no serious results are yet reported. Blenheim, April 6. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt hero shortly after four this afternoon. Chsistchuech, April 7A shock of earthquake was experienced yesterday afternoon, just before four. It was not heavy, but was dearly preceptiblc.
