MOUNT COOK ROAD BOARD.
The Board hold its ordinary mooting at Burke’s Pass on Monday. There were present, Messrs Smith, Strothers, Rutherford and McGregor, Mr Smith
occupied the chair, Mr Raine being absent. The Board considered the Engineer’s report on the works in hand, and dealt with several matters of routine. Mr Goodwin asked the Board to build a culvert under the road at Pairlio Creek to allow the tail water from a mill to run off. It was resolved—“ That the Board will share the cost of this culvert and removal of the footbridge with the proprietors of the mill when erected, and that thefootbridge be removed to the Irishman Creek Road and erected over the creek.” The Board determined to strike a rate of 3d in the £ in their district, and having passed a number of accounts, adjourned.
