Burton’s circus attracted a good attendance last night and the entertainment was very successful. The acrobatic and gymnastic performances were particularly good, .notably that of the wire-rope walker. “ Dick Turpin” was well gone through to the intense delight of the youngsters present. “Black Bess” is a creature, the like of which one does not see twice in a lifetime. She is an extraordinary example of high training. The Autumn Show of the Waimate Horticultural Society will be held in the SohOoihduse this evening; . '■'

An entertainment of a very unusualcharacter for Timaru will be given in the Theatre on Monday evening.'’ Mr Weston, a conjuror, magician, and general miracle monger, will appear with his-troupe of trained dogs, marionettes, automatic figufes, Punchinello, Davenport Bros.’ tying-up trick, phenomenal whistling, and other marvels of illusion, Mr Weston is a conjuror of more than ordinary cleverness, and has performed before H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh on board H.M.S, Galatea, and> before His Excellency the Governor of Victoria. .
