Supreme Court* • Wellington, April 3. In the Supremo Court to-day Margaret Lucy was acquitted. True bills were found against KobertHickling for assault with intent; J.C. O’Donoghue for stealing from the person, and Jules Kaeser Huysman for uttering a forged cheque. No bills were found against John Smith for assault with intent, and James Anderson for receiving stolen goods. Judicial, At the Supreme Court this morning, Mr Justice Kichmond referred to the light calendar, and briefly touched on the cases. His Honor directed the Grand Jury to find no bill against J. R 1 Henry for embezzlement as a bailee, on the ground that the evidence would not bear out a charge of that nature. The case- of Margaret Cruden Lucy for housebreaking is proceeding. Unlicensed Christians* Chbistchubch, April 3. At the R.M. Court to-day the trustees of Sti Paul’s Presbyterian Church were fined , r fdr permitting the Young Men’s Christian Association to hold a concert, .in • St. Paul’s Church without the building being licensed for entertainments by the City Council. : j'*, r[ • ; — —— — - * Judicial. ■ ’ 1 Dunedin, April 3. The Supreme Court opened to-day. The Judge’s charge referred to the fact that the calendar was somewhat heavier than usual, but stated that , none of the cases presented’ any special difficulties. Hugh/Murray was acquitted for horsestealing. _____________
