The markets for colonial produce are without change. At the wool sale to-day. 9400 bales were offered. The tone of the sale was firm. Mails. The Homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on February 16th, per P. O. steamer Rosetta, were delivered here to-day. Cardinal McCabeIt is announced that the Most Rev Edward McCabe, Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, has received the Cardinal’s hat, Irish Outrages. Serious outrages continue to.be committed in the disturbed districts in Ireland. News is to hand to-day that an attempt has been made in Donegal to destroy a farmhouse with an explosive bomb. The missile was thrown and the explosion caused serious damage to the house, but the inmates escaped without injury. Agitators not to be Released-

Parnell, Dillon and O’Kelly have applied to he released from custody on parole. It is not yet known’what answer has “been returned by the .authorities to the request. It has transpired that Government have refused the request of Messrs Parnell, Dillon and Kelly, that they should be liberated on parole. The Chief Secretary on the State of Ireland. In the House-of Commons to-day the Right Hon. W. E. Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, made a statement with regard to the position of affairs in Ireland. ‘He said there were hopeful signs of a cessation of disorder, but that outrages must be stopped or the Government would be compelled to ask the. House to authorise the adoption of stronger measures for the suppression of agrarian and political crimes. ;. The Basutos. The Colonial Secretary of CapO Colony (the Hon. J. C.
