The brigantine Anthons started' for Greymouth last night, but owing to Ihe nor-’wester blowing in her teeth, she could make no progress, and therefore anchored again at the outer anchorage. The schooner Clyde arrived this morning from Greymouth with a cargo of coal for the Brunner Coal Company, The ketch Kestrel, bound for Gatlin’s River, in ballast, will probab’y be towed out by the Go-Ahead this evening,, the steamer being bound for Dunedin. Owing to the stiff nor-’easter creating a nasty jobble in the sea, the ships lying at the outer anchorage were not worked to-day. SNAGGING OF THE S.S. WESTPORT. The official enquiry held yesterday, showed that the accident to the Westport was caused by the captain shifting the steamer down the stream to take in general cargo after filling the forehold with coal, thus striking a snag, of the existence of which he was entirely ignorant. The Harbor Master was under the impression that the Westport would go up the stream to load the balance of her cargo of eoal, and was not aware that there was any general cargo to come aboard. There is a difference of opinion between the Harbor Master and the Railway Manager as to which of them is in charge of the river,
