The prices ruling at the close of the late sales were firmly maintained. The present series of auctions will close on sth April. Frozen MeatThe cargo of frozen meat, per steamship Orient, consisting of mutton and lamb has been sold at an average of fivepence halfpenny per pound. The meat was of fair quality. MailsThe homeward Australian and New Zealand mails, via Brindisi, which left Melbourne on the 18th January, were delivered in London yesterday. Stranding of a New Zealand ShipThe ship Woodville, bound to Port Chalmers from Liverpool, went ashore at Holyhead, North Wales. The captain and some of the crew were^drowned. The vessel has been got off, and she has been taken back to Liverpool for repairs. Nihilism. St. Petersburg, Feb. 27. The trial of twenty prominent Nihilists has just concluded. Ten of the accused have been sentenced to death, and ten to penal servitude for life.
