MARK MASTER MASONRY.
There was a red letter day amongst the Masonic Fraternity in South Canterbury yesterday, being the occasion of .a new lodge of Mark Master Masons,under the English Constitution being duly opened in the spacious hall, belongingto Lodge St. John, No. 1137, E C, The opening proceedings com menced at 6 p.m., when the chair was taken by T. S. Graham E.W.'P.G-.M, wh„ .... slst' uj the the Provir . Jr l -u Lodge, in presence of *• aber of P.M,M. and others. At' ’ "'ncLL of this ceremony the P.G.iVi. assisted by the D.P.G.M; and wardens proceeded to consecrate and dedicate the Lodge which is to be known as the “ South Canterbury Lodge of Mark Master Masons” and when finished vacated the chair which
was taken by W. Bro Charles de Longeville Graham who installed the following- members as office-bearers: Bro W. Ziesler, W.M. ; B>o C. Palliser, S. W.; Bro A. J. Parsons, J.W. ; Bro W, M. Sims, Secretary and Treasurer ; Bro W. Dale, M.O. ; Bro J. Meikle, S.O. ;, Bro S. Shappere, J.O. ; Bro G. Gordon, S.D. ; Bro W. Pry, J.D. ; Bro T. Hurt, I. ; Bro R. Morgan, Tyler. Tim Lodge was afterwards closed in due form, and the brethren and visitors entertained at a banquet, when the usual Mark Masonic toasts were duly honored. Among, the distinguished visitor presents were Bros Li Court, J. A. Bird, R. Ritchie, J, N. Carter, S. DeLeon, W. L. Buchanan, R. Bamfield, C. Braid, J. West, A. McGregor, and B. Cuming, who arrived by the express train yesterday. The company broke up at a late hour. .
