His ■!, early decease must be regarded in the light of a considerable national loss. ‘ Seeing that so many brilliant members of the medical profession have lost their own lives in connection with the local 1 treatment of cases of diphtheria, and how inevitable it is that the contagion will take effect if any impinge on the operator’s lips, it is surprising no precautions are taken. In Dr Foulis’s case a common respirator would have constituted a sufficient protection.
