There was a good attendance at this match yesterday, 3000 persons looking on. On Thursday, the first day of the match, the Auckland team made 122. Yesterday the Englishmen took the wickets, and when the stumps were drawn, only four were out for 166 runs. Selby retired not being well. Scotton and Shrewsbury the not out men, went in soon after lunch, and remained in till night. Every bowler in the Auckland team was tried against them, but without effect.
