The following is a return of the Customs and other duties collected at the port of Timaru, during the .month of January, 1882 :
The . Customs revenue collected at Ulu-istcnrch during January amounted to £20,466 13s 4d, The Dum-din returns are £38,114 15s fid. For the corresponding month of List year, the returns were £43,763 17s 3d-
At "New Plymouth £2498- 8s 9d was collected. For the corresponding month of 1881 the amount Was £2143. The gold duty for the month was £1146 8s 9d. : V - ;
