Times Office, Ihursday evening. ;• Mess Wildie, Allan f and Stumbles’ stock report for -tht fortnight ending Tuesay, I7th inst., as follows . , • At the commencement of the past fortnight there was a very J perceptible decline in both price and demand ’for all classes , of live stock. ' The dry weather had a very marked effect, and business in stock was at a comparative standstill. The recent rains and somewhat' cldudy weather with the absence of nor’west era have caused a considerable excitement, and as in proof they have to report one of thd best sales at the Wasbdyke yards on. Monday, the 16th inet., they have held’ during the season. Cattle—They quote prime fat. cattle to be’worth, as per their sales, from 17s 6d to 20s per lOOlbs, the market being amply supplied, and they cannot see any grounds to hope for improvement for Some time. Their Sales for the fortnight have been 26 fat cows from £4 15s to £5 15s; 2 bullock-, £5, 6 do £6 15s, 8-do £7 10s, 6 do £B, 20 ,do from £7 12s 6d to £8 2s 6d. Store Cattle.—There is a. brisk demand, ~ with prices in advance of late quotations. ■.' Their sales’ at the, Washdyke was well attended, nearly ( every '.lot finding purchasers with keen competion. 235 head ~of all classes ( were yarded .by them, and . .‘.with exception of thirteen; store cows, all H were sold. ' From; the prices obtained they quote steers and heifers,'2 to 3 years,; £3, ,17s 6d to £5 do do, 18. months to2 years, from'' £2 2s,'to,£3 15s ; calves to yearlings,’ 16s to 48s; ,cows (dry), £3 to £5 2s 6d'j milch cows,, £5 5s ,to ,£6 175,6 d.
