Dunedin, Jan. 19. The report of the Colonial Bank of

New Zealand for the half year sayfc the net profit for the term is £17,593, or 1 with balance from last half year, £19,990. From this has to be deducted ' £2051, tax on note circulation and property tax, leaving available for, distribution £17,939. The Directors recommend a dividend of 7 per cent per

annum, to carry £IOOO to the reserye ... fund, raising it to £31,000 and to leave ;il * balance to be carried forward of £2939. Branches of the Bank have been opened during the half-year at Cambridge and Timaru. Mr A. W. Morris retires from the Board at this meeting in accordance with the deed of settlement, and is ' not eligible for re-election until the next annual general meeting. Mr , George; Gray Russell is the only candidate for the yacant seat.
