The Englishmen having scored 156 in their first innings, they required only three runs to win the match, and these were soon obtained. The game was continued, however, until the usual time for drawing the stumps, and in the hour and a quarter given them, the Otago eighteen took six wickets fora, total of 54 runs, Midwinter not out 15, and Barlow, caught out 14, being the only two who obtained double figures.
