■ [Eeutbe’s Agency.] The Garonne’s PassengersMelbourne, Jan. 14 The New Zealand passengers per Garonne who are quarantined here hare applied for leave to proceed by the steamer leaving for the Bluff on the 16th. Government has, however, refused them permission. All the Garonne’s smallpox patients with one exception are progressing very favorably towards recovery. No fresh intelligence has been received to-day from the quarantine station. > Adelaide, J«n. 14. Among the passengers per Garonne quarantined here, one steerage passenger has developed symptoms of smallpox and has been isolated, the necessary precautionary measures are being taken in view of an outbreak or smallpox among the Garonne’s passengers at the quarantine station.
