AUSTRALIAN REVENUES.

[By Cable.] Mbluoubne Dec. 31. The revenue returns for the quarter and year ended to day have been published. The revenue for the past quarter was £1,375,000, an increase of £124,000 compared with last year. The revenue for the year amounted to £5,428,000, a net increase of £723,000 compared with 1880. for the past , year amounted to £6,714,000, being an increase of £1,802,098 conipared ; with 1880. The land revenue amounted to £2,821,000 ; the railways earned £1,460,000, and the post office, £330,000. Increases are shown in the income from duties on spirits, tobacco, and from stamps.

Adelaide; Jan. 2. The revenue : of South Australia for the past qfiartef ainounted to £544,000, being an increase of £47,000 compared with the corresponding quarter of 1880. J The revenue for the half-year ended 31st December was £1,124,000, showing an increase of £167,000 compared with the last six months of the previous year.
