THE GERALDINE ELECTION
[to the editor.] Sik, —I have noticed many letters in the columns ot : your contemporary touching on tiie qualities of the three men now contesting the Geraldine seat. I must confess such one-sided views should not bo entertained by the electors. One correspondent simply tells us Postlethwaiio and Hayhurst are no use ; Walt field is the man. Now if
{he real name of the '• Herald’s ” i correspondent were known to ns, ho might possibly turn out to bo a merchant or squatter, or a somebody doing a large business with one of our laeding banks, and we all know what that means, I thoroughly believe in having a local man. liraaru has had a local man and with good results. lam Yours &c.
WALLACE SMITH Geraldine, Dec. 7.
