ORDINARY Single Fare Tickets to Dunedin, issued at Christchurch or any station between Christchurch and Dunedin on any day from 28th Nov. to 3rd Dec. inclusive, will be available for return up to and including sth Dec. NIGHT EXCURSION TRAINS. An excursion train will leave Christchurch for Dunedin at 8.10 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th Nov., stopping at Ashburton and Timaru only, leaving Ashburton at 10.40 p.m. and Timaru at 1.5 a.m., and a return train will leave Dunedin for Christchurch at 9 on Saturday, 3rd Dec. Passengers desirous of returning earlier or later can travel with the excursion tickets by ordinary train on any day up to and including sth Dec. Fares to Dunedin per Excursion Train. Ist. V ' & E ’ IN Pursuance of “The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," I, RICHMOND BEBTHAM, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Timaru, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 9th day of November, 1881, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an Election will be held for the return of One Qualified Person to serve as Member for the said Electoral District ; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Resident Magistrate’s Courthouse, Timaru, at noon on the 30th day of November, 1881 ; and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the polling-place of the said district, on the 9th day of December, 1881.
