Two of the vessels are, it is stated,Junder orders to proceed direct to Auckland. ' Runaway ConvictsBrisbane, Nov. 19. Eight escapees from the French penal settlement at New Caledonia have been captured at Fraser Island, off the coast of this colony, near Maryborough. The escapees had been thirteen days at sea in an open boat. They were brought up at the Maryborough Police Court to day and remanded to Brisbane.
