ADVICE TO ELECTORS.
u Civis ” in this week’s <( Witness” says : 1. Eschew the political adventurer. The political adventurer is he—whether “ working man’s candidate ’’ or. by whatever name called—who if elected, would have no visible means of support except his honorarium, and the crumbs which occasionally fall from the Ministerial table. Show no mercy to the needy waiter upon Providence. Score him out.
2. Score out religiously the candidate who has got a “ block vote.” If the block vote system be tolerated it will be possible for an imbecile without three political ideas in his head, but who has swallowed the formulas of Good Templarism and the Bible in Schools, to beat the best candidate that can be run against him. Whoever he may be, score out the nominee of block votes.
Steering his course by these plain landmarks, the patriotic elector, if he cannot command success, will at least have the consolation of knowing that he has deserved it.
