The Canterbury Dog Show will take place at Christchurch, in the Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Show ground on Nov. 9. Entries will be received up to 5 p.iii. on Monday next by Mr G. Chater Miles. There is no news of an exciting character about the Maori difficulty, but telegrams received to-day, which we give elsewhere, show that the preparations to “astonish the natives” are going on rapidly. Captain Hamersley received telegrams this afternoon instructing him to start for the North by the first train to-morrow, to pick up the Temuka and Ashburton men on the way to embark on the Stella at Lyttelton.
