CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE The following is the report for the week ending Friday, Oct. 21st : The markets during the week are entirely without alteration, the same dullness pervading the trade. The weather continues extremely favorable. Wheat—Latest English advices report an advance of Is per quarter, thus bringing the price hack to the original quotation of 575. Good sound milling samples are worth from 4s 6d to 4s 9d, f.o.b. , second quality, 4s to 4s 4d per bushel; chick wheat, 3s to 3s 6d per bushel. Oats—There is little change in values; if anything, a shade weaker. Good short milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel, f.o.b. ; feed quality, Is lOd to 2s per bushel in Christchurch.

Barley—The malting season being now nearly over, the demand has sensibly slackened, nevertheless any samples of really prime quality would meet with purchasers at from 2s 9d to 3s Gd per bushel.; second quality malting is not very saleable, prices ranging between 2s 3d and 2s 7d per bushel ; feed quality is more saleable, at from Is 9d to 2s per bushel. Potatoes—Business done during the week has been insignificent, and small orders have been executed at from 27s Gd to 30s per ton f.o.b. Grass Seed—The demand is all but over for the present. Values remain unchanged, 5s to 5s 9d being the quotations according to quality. Cocksfoot, 3Ad to 3jjd. Cheese and Butter—The former is worth 3d to 3sd per lb, the latter 7d to per lb.
