[Reuter’s Agency, j THE TROUBLE IN IRELAND. London, Oct. 20. The Irish Executive continues to enforce stringent measures for the suppression of disorder in Ireland. Several further arrests of prominent agitators were made to-d ay, and warrants con tinue to be issued for the arrest of. others.
The City of Londonderry and the Borough of Drogheda! have been proclaimed disturbed districts under the provisions of the Coercion Act. It now transpires that the statement recently current that the head-quarters of the Land League had been removed from Dublin to Liverpool is quite premature, no change having yet been made in the seat of operations of the League. The Archbishop of Cashel, county Tipperary, has written a letter in which he condemns in strong terms the League’s recent manifesto urging tenants to refuse to pay rents. The Irish Land Commission appointed under the provisions of the Land Act, has commenced its sittings. Over four hundred cases are down for decision by the Commission. A Proclamation has been issued by the Viceroy of Ireland declaring the Irish National Land League to be an illegal association, and announcing that any meetings that may be held under its auspices will be forcibly dispersed. Rome, Oct. 20. It is announced that King Humbert will visit the Emperor Francis Joseph at Vienna towards the end of the present month. Washington, Oct. 19. The Centennary of York Town was celebrated to-day with great rejoicing. By order of President Arthur, the British flag was saluted as a token of friendship between England and America, and as a mark of respect to Her Majesty the Queen.
