At Mr C. Patton’s usual weekly Quadrille Assembly in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Barnard street to-night, an extended programme will be given. The late Mr Harrison Hall was accorded a full Masonic funeral to-Jay. Members of the three Timarn Lodges and the Winchester Lodge attending in regalia, This is the first Masonic funeral that has been celebrated here on so full a scale for several years. About 100 Masons took part in the procession, and they were joined by members of the Ancient Order of Foresters. A large number of friends of the deceased attended, the whole numbering at least 200. Mr John Reid, who contested the Waitaki seat at the last election, has received a requisition asking him to stand again, the requisionists telling him that he is "the most trustworthy person available at the present time." If this is not damning with faint praise we have no idea what the phrase means.
