A vote of confidence in Mr Hutchison was carried by 11 to 2. Maoris Selling Off New Plymouth, Oct. 6. With reference to the Natives selling (heir cattle and goods at a sacrifice, the Herald” gives the instance of J. Dingle, of New Plymouth, who bought 20 head of large cattle from a native for £4O, or £2 per head for full-grown cattle. Again. Captain Martyn, of Manaia, and Mr Humphrey Bayley bought 70 horses from the Natives for £SO. They have sold a building formerly used as a Maori chapel, ploughs, and other things to raise money. Moritzon’s Case. Dunedin, Oct. G. Morilzon was convicted of embezzlement, and sentenced to a year’s imprisonment, after the expiration of his present sentence. Rev, Upton Dayis RetiringThe Rev J.
