Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations).as under : Wednesday, Oct. 5. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Waitaki, at 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct, 6. For Australian Colonies, per Arawata, at 4 p.m. Friday* Oct. 7. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Te Anau, at 6 a.ra. Saturday, Oot. 8. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, the Continent of Europe, America, Africa, the Sandwich Islands, and the Mediterranean Ports, as follows : Money orders, registered letters, and newspapers, at 1,30 p.m, Ordinary letters at 2.30 p.m. Late fee letters will be received at the Chief Post Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express Train) till 3.20 p.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka, at 2.50 p.m. For Northern Porta of New Zealand and Fiji per Taiaroa, about Monday, 10th inst.
