Public Notices TIMAEU AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION. The Sixteenth ANN.UAL EXHIBITION OF Stock, Agricultural Produce, and Farm Implements, will be held on the ASSOCIATION’S GROUNDS, WAI-ITI ROAD, ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, OCT. 25 and 26. THE Association offer Prizes of Plate, Money, and Medals in each Class, viz., Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Agricultural Produce, &c. PRIVATE PRIZES. Messrs Miles, Archer and Co., J. T. Ford and Co., and Thomas Teschemaker, Esq., give a Prize of £ls 15s, to be added to the Society’s Prize of £lolos, to the largest prize-taker in Merino Sheep. National Mortgage and Agency Company give a Prize of £lO lOs to the largest prizetaker in Shorthorn Cattle. Timaru Drapers give a piece of Plate, value £l2 12s, to the largest prize-taker in Draught Horses. Timaru Butchers give a piece of Plate, value £lO 10s, to the largest prizelaker in Fat Cattle. Licensed Victuallers give a piece of Plate value £lO 10s, for the greatest number of points in Dairy Produce. R, H. Rhodes, Esq., junr., gives a p'ecc of Plate, value £lO 10s, for the best Hunter, in addition to the Association’s Prize. Messrs Maclean and Stewart give a piece of Plate, value £5 ss, to the largest prizetaker in Draught Stock being a resident in South Canterbury. Messrs Wildie, Allan, and Stumbles give a piece of Plate, value £5 ss, for. the best Merino Ram. Messrs P. Cunningham and Co. give a piece of Plate, value £5 ss, to the largest aggregate scorer in Agricultural Produce. The President gives a piece of Plate, value £5 5s for the best Thoroughbred Entire. " Timaru Herald” gives a piece of Plate, value £5 ss, to the largest s ggregate scorer in Classes Sheep, Cattle, Pigs, Horses, Dairy and Agricultural Produce, M. Studholme, Esq., gives a piece of Plate, value £5 ss, for the best Brood Mare in Other Horses, for breeding weightcarrying hacks, either in foal or with foal at foot. Sergeant-Major D. McQuinness, C.Y.C., gives a piece of Plate, value £5 os, for the best Cavalry Charger, up to 18 stone weight. Mr W. Evans gives a piece of Plate, value £3 3s, for the best sample of Wheat. and Bowie give a piece of Plate, value £3 3s, for the most poi nts
in Cheese. Messrs R. Wilkin and Co. give £3 3s, for the best collection of Farm Implements on the ground, Mr B. Hibbard gives a Prize of £3 2s for most points in Bacon and Hams. Messrs J. Anderson and Co. give a Prize of £2 2s for the best Butter, made up in half-pound rolls (plain) ready far the table. Mr ?, W.
