COMMERCIAL.
S. C. Times Office, Saturday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report respecting their sale of horses to-day as follows: A large number of horses were entered at their yards to-day,, about 45 being submitted by auction, for which there was a fair demand, and a considerable number changed hands at moderate prices. The annual parade of entire horses was held at the Old Show Grounds, after which they offered for sale a number of the animals paraded. They report little demand for this class of horses, and sales difficult to make at anything like values. They sold the throughbred entire Ilam, on account of MrM. Studholme, at 31 guineas to Mr John Rutherford ; on account of Mr D. McGuinness, the thoroughbred entire Sherwood, to Mr J. Cardin for 18 guineas; on account of Mr W. Seabright, Bluegown, for 10 guineas ; on account of Mr T. Jefcoate, Fairy Xing, for £l2 10s. All the other horses were passed in, the prices offered not reaching their owners’reserves.
