Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Tuesday, Sept. 27. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept, 29. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Rotorua, at 6 am. For Bruce Bay, Haast River, and Jackson's Bay (via Christchurch and Hokitika) at 2.50 pan. Saturday, Oct. 1. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, at 2.50 a.m. For Australian Colonies, per Rotomahana, at 12.40 p.m. (will connect with steamer leaving Melbourne on October 12.) ’ The Waipara will leave Hokitika for West Coast Sounds on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and for Okarito about Wednesday, Oct. 19.
