At the E.M. Court at Ashburton yesterday, Mr O’Eeilly was committed for trial at the Supreme Court on the charge of libelling Mr Joseph Ivess. Accused was admitted to bail in the sum of £IOO. The outlay in connection with the Government Life Insurance Department during the two years ended March last was £12,320. Policies were issued during that time to the amount of £1,275,605.
