This Company has been formed to meet a long-felt want in the district of an institution occupying a wider sphere than that filled by existing Building Societies. The intention of the Company is to carry on business on Building Society principles, to receive deposits at current rates of interest, to make advances on approved landed securities for fixed terms, to provide for the conversion of any of its Building Society loans into fixed loans, paying interest quarterly or half-yearly, or the reconversion of such fixed into progressive loans, and also to advance upon the security of the paid-up amounts of Shares subscribed under the Building Society Section. The profits of the Company will be allocated in such a ratio as to adjust fairly the claims of the two classes of investors— Capital and Subscription Shareholders, In regard to the subscription shares under the monthly-payment system, these may, on attaining the value of £lO each, be converted into fully paid-up capital shares of the Company, or paid out in cash at the option of the holder. 1 The Directors do not consider it will be necessary to call up more than £1 per share on capital shares, as they deem it more advisable to borrow on deposit or debenture, should it be found, in the course of time, that the business of the Company warrants the use of increased capital, The Books of the Company will be audited quarterly.
