The Homan Catholic body, however, has wisely adopted the plan of devoting a certain sum every year towards it; completion, and already the LiTgo amount of £105,000 has been scent upon it. It is estimated (hat nil additional sum of forty or fifty thousand pounds will be required to finish the building. The dimensions of 8!. Patrick’s Cathedral are somewhat h'.rgm- than those of Lichfield Cathedral, which, like ours when completed, has three spires. The superficial internal area of Lichfield Cathedral, however, is 33,930 square feet, whereas St. Patrick’s will have at least 40,000. It will have two front and one central spire, and the following will be its chief dimensions :—Total inside length, 320 ft. ; width of the nave and aisles, 99ft.; height of the gables, 97ft.; length of the transept, 184 ft.; width of the transept and aisles, 96ft.; central tower, 40ft. square; height of front spires, 202 ft.; height of central spire, 254 ft.
