DEATH OF A CENTENARIAN.
We clip the following from a paper received by the last mail-Isabella Grant or Duthie died the other day at Westmuir, Kirismuir, in her 101st year. She retained complete consiousness until the last. During her long lifetime she had lost her sight on two occasions, and once her hearing deserted her, but both faculties returned to her, and up till within a few days of her death she could read the Dime or newspapers or thread a needle without th« aid of spectacles or assistance of any kind. She has had 9 children, GG grandchildren, and 3 great-grand-children, of whom nearly all are alive. A few days before she lay down for the last time she was able to walk about the house, a short stick iu her baud, doing work as efficiehtly and with as much apparent facility as a woman half her age. Deceased, who was wellknown and much respected, was buried in the Cemetery at Kirriemuir. Mrs Tindal, of Elizabeth street, Tirnaru, is the oldest of the GG grand children.”
