A SHAM DOCTOR IN TROUBLE.
A Sandhurst telegram of August Ist, in the Argus, says:—“ An unmaried woman named Margaret Smith, 28 years of age, who had been employed for some years as housekeeper to Mr Henry Wrixon, solicitor, w«s found dead this evening under the most suspicions circumstances of a peculiar nature. When Mr Wrixon left the house this morning the'woman appeared to be in her usual health, but upon his returning homo, about 6 o’clock this evening h’e found her lying dead on the sofa, with a sheet thrown over her. A groom in the employ of Mr Wrixon states that he saw the woman in the garden about J o’clock. Mr J. E. Wall, who practises aa a medical man, subsequently visited the house.
The woman was not afterwards seen alive. ” Evidence at'the inquest showed that Wal|, who was not a legallyqualified medical man, had tried to procure abortion, Ho was cornmited for trial on a charge of manslaughter.
