Mr G. Bezzant notifies haring opened a tailoring establishment opposite the Theatre Royal, Main South-Eo'acl, and he is now prepared to supply garments of guaranteed quality and style, at reasonable prices. The marriage of Mr M. J. Godby with Miss Ada Rhodes was solemnized at St, Mary’s Church this morning. The ceremony was performed by the Ven; the Archdeacon Harper, assisted by the Rev. George Foster, the former incumbent. The service was choral, and Mr T. F. Gooch presided at the organ and played the “ Wedding March ” as the bridal party left the Church. The event excited a great deal of interest, the Church being densely crowded. We regret to state that Mr Peters, of the firm of Messrs Jones and Peters, met with a serious accident on the breakwater this morning. The crane was moving and Mr Peters got jammed between a concrete block and the crane. Fortunately his position was noticed immediately, and the engine was instantly reversed, and thus a fatal accident was averted, Mr Peters is now under the care of Dr Hogg. A calculaiton has been made that the distribution of £50,000 as bonuses to holders of policies in the Government Insurance Department will result in an average of about 21s or 23s cash for each £IOO insured or about £4 if left as reversionary bonus payable at death. Thus the holder of a £SOO policy would receive from £5 to £6 cash, or have about £2O added to the amount of his policy, the actual amount, of course, being dependent on the duration of the policy.
