[Reuter’s Agency.l Melbourne, Ang. 9. The Victorian Parliament was adjourned to-day to September 30. Sydney, August 8. Two fresh cases of smallpox have been reported to day from Croydon, about five miles to the west of the city. The Board of Health have not yet decided whether the patients, two children named Wyndrom, shall be moved to the Quarantine Station or left to the care of their parents. Brisbane, Aug 9. In the libel action brought by Mr Cook, journalist, against the proprietors of the “ Evangelical Standard” in which damages were laid at £IOOO, a verdict has been returned for the defendants.
