FPek Times Special Wiee.l A New DailyNelson, June. 21. It is announced this, morning that tho “ Colonist ” newspaper will bo issued as a daily morning paper, commencing in J uly. New Licenses Refused. Wellington, June 21. At an adjourned meeting of the Licensing Court, all the applications for new licenses were refused, except one which was further adjourned for a week. Killed by the Train. Dunedin, June 21. -lolm McElhenncy was killed by a train on the Caversham road running over him. The deceased, who was drunk, attempted to cross the line right in front of the car, which was going only at the rate of a mile an hour. Sudden DeathAlexander Bond, aged eighty, died suddenly of heart disease last night, at Hillside. Attempted SuicideAt the City Court William Macadam was charged with attempted suicide. Whilst drunk he laid himself down on the tram line at Forbury, and with, difficulty was removed. He was remanded for medical examination.
