MATA’S VICTORIES.

Theie is now to hand a full account of the Adelaide laming Club’s meeting, at which the New Zealand horse, Main, was so successful. In the Queen's Birthday Cup ho carried top weight (Oat 21b) and won easily, drawing away from the Australian crack, iiogiess, without an effort. Mata was also heavily handicapped (Ost 7ib) in the All-aged Stakes. A dead head was run with Koh i-noor, which only carried 7st 31h, In ihe deciding boat Mata won easily by three lengths. In the May Handicap, lOst s!h was put on his hack, but the Maori won ta-ily, though ho carried three stone more than any other horse in the race. The Adelaide meeting has undoubtedly proved Mata to be one of the best horses in the Southern Hemisphere.
